Trabant, often referred to simply as Trabi, is a series of small passenger cars manufactured in the former East Germany and shortly after the unification. The model 601 was produced without major changes for over 25 years. With over 2.8M units built, it became the most popular vehicle in East Germany and, eventually, one of the symbols of the Eastern Blocs collapse after footages of thousands of East Germans crossing the border in their Trabants after the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989 were broadcast all over the world.
The reference AK35034 represents the most common limousine variant of the Trabant, as built in the second half of the 1980s, which also found use as a rallye car in the competitions organized in East Germany and other Eastern Bloc countries in the aforementioned period. Four marking options are featured in decals included in the kit, allowing for replication of colorful cars which took part in various rallies between 1987 and 1989.
The main features of the kit:
- Over 80 plastic parts
- Vinyl tires
- 3D printed parts
- Detailed interior and chassis
- Decals for 4 painting/marking options printed by Cartograf
