What you read here is not gossip or even sailor's yarn - it is, except for the report from America, the very personal experiences of Michael Dumaschefski. He spent a total of 10 years at sea in the People's Navy of the GDR on speedboats, 7 of them as commander - a long time. Including all transfers, test runs, training, reconnaissance and missile firing, Michael Dumaschefski went to sea a total of 144 times, of which 55 as commander of a missile speedboat and 70 times as commander of a small missile ship "Tarantul".
The two years of his time in the Stralsund school brigade, as lieutenant and first lieutenant, were not yet individually documented in the logbook at that time. So 15-20 sea trips as officer of the watch could be added. Unfortunately, the comments fields of the logbook introduced at that time were very small and one could only write a few general information about the cruise. The author wrote some important events so small that he could hardly read them later. However, they helped a lot in getting the accounts down on paper.
