This book is designed to be the first comprehensive and objective account of the naval battles in the Adriatic during World War II in former Yugoslavian waters, taking into account all participants. Publications from the past have largely concentrated on the fight of the partisans around Josip Broz Tito, the "war of the others", especially the naval war, have hardly been taken into account.
It is only in recent decades that it has been possible to gain a better insight and thus to study the names of the ships and commanders involved as well as most of the planned and executed undertakings of all sides and thus present them to the public. The German edition presented here has been slightly expanded compared to the English one.
