Volume 24 of Imagenes de Guerra. Joachim Peiper was one of the best known German officers of the Waffen-SS in WW2. However, his military reputation as a highly decorated officer is overshadowed by accusations that he and the units under his command committed war crimes. The intention of this work is to provide an overview of Joachim Peiper's military career: the battle in front of Jarkov between February and March 1943, the battles for the front arc near Kursk in the summer of 1943, the campaign on the Ukrainian front between the autumn and winter of 1943/1944, the defensive battle in Normandy in the summer of 1944, the counter-offensive in the Ardennes in the winter of 1944/45 and finally the last operations on the Hungarian front and the surrender in Austria. The analysis of the various battles is accompanied by the testimonies of the protagonists involved, official war reports and original documents. The text is accompanied by a large number of contemporary photographs and several plates with colour illustrations.
