It traces all the fronts and battles in which it was involved: from the early fighting on the Galician front under the 18th SS Division Horst Wessel to the terrible battles on the snow-covered fields of Pomerania, where the division was almost wiped out, to the defensive battles of Danzig and Kolberg, to the last battle in the streets of Berlin, undoubtedly the most famous battle of the French Waffen-SS. And it is precisely because of their participation in the final battles on the streets of Berlin that the French volunteers of Charlemagne are among the best-known representatives of the European volunteers of the Waffen-SS.
