Volume 1 of the series "La Collection Vauvillier". From 1911, the French vehicle manufacturer "Renault" used its trucks in the "endurance tests" organised annually by the French army. This was the beginning of a very important and long-lasting partnership. In various conflicts in which the French state was involved from the 1st World War until June 1940, the trucks from Billancourt played an important role in transporting and supplying French troops around the globe.

All "Renault" trucks with a payload of more than two tonnes are documented in this work. This is the first work in a series in which all the commercial vehicles of the French military since the First World War are to be presented with their history, development and technology. The individual vehicles are presented in a very richly illustrated chronological and systematic manner, each with the most important technical data, some photos, serial numbers, if these could be found, and in the case of the most important vehicles with coloured profile illustrations.
