Description
Volume 2 of the series "La Collection Vauvillier". All the trucks of "Laffly" are documented in this work. This is the second book in a series in which all commercial vehicles of the French military since World War I are presented with their history, development and technology. Very richly illustrated, the individual vehicles are presented chronologically and systematically, each with the most important technical data, some photos, serial numbers, if these could be found, and in the case of the most important vehicles with coloured profile illustrations.
During the 1st World War, the French company "Laffly" still exclusively produced roller compressors for the country's armament industry, not yet trucks. From the late 1920s onwards, truck manufacturing was added as a further product branch, and the "Fast Truck" LC2 quickly found its way into the vehicle arsenal of the French army. Further truck developments followed, including trucks with radio equipment. Then followed the secret purchase of the patent of the Austrian engineer Hollos, which made "Laffly" a specialist in off-road vehicles. As the company in Asnières was unable to meet all the requirements due to the modesty of its industrial tool, a consortium was formed with "Hotchkiss" and "La Licorne" to ensure sufficient production, but this ran into difficulties in 1940.
