Description
For Berliet, the beginning of the 1960s was of great importance. This was the period when the common European market began and customs barriers were lifted to allow access to the German, Italian, Belgian and Dutch markets. The brand with the locomotive equipped itself with structures that would enable it to position itself favourably vis-à-vis these new outlets and developed special vehicles adapted to the requirements of the new markets.
Parallel to this, Berliet continued its export efforts, particularly in Africa, the Maghreb, Cuba and the People's Republic of China. Finally, the manufacturer from Vénissieux pursued a policy of intensive renewal of its product range in France in order to maintain its position against its traditional competitors, such as Saviem and Unic, but also against new competitors from Germany, Italy or Great Britain. The period from 1961 to 1963 saw the introduction of the M3 relax cab with bonnet, which is considered a symbol as it was intended to make the brand known worldwide or to strengthen its image. In this book you will learn more about these eventful years and their novelties.
