The "Simca 1100" was developed more than 50 years ago. Less famous than the emblematic "Aronde" or the lovable 1000, the "Simca 1100" nevertheless represents a milestone in automobile history. With this vehicle, the "family car" was born, a passenger car that was equally usable in the city and in the countryside, with which one could go on holiday or even just to the supermarket for shopping: This is the pioneer of the modern compact class. It became the best-selling car in France in 1972 and is still the last vehicle to receive this distinction that did not come from "Peugeot" or "Renault". This book offers you a review of the history of the "Simca 1100" from its conception to the present day. It is illustrated with over 400 contemporary documents from all over Europe and North America, many of which are unpublished.
