Descriptionof Les Avions de Transport et de Liaison de l'Armee de l'Air de 1945 à nos jours

The first part of the book discusses all transport, liaison and aerial refuelling aircraft, as well as aircraft for special missions (electronic warfare, search and rescue, calibration, etc.). In the second part, all units of the Luftwaffe that have used these aircraft at home and abroad are presented. Thus, all the aircraft that were designed from the outset as transport aircraft are presented in detail (conception, use, special features, etc.), as are their versions modified for training and special tasks (electronic warfare, search and rescue, calibration, etc.), without forgetting the aircraft whose original purpose was by no means transport or liaison.
Thus, some famous bomber models that had a second career as transport aircraft after the war are shown in these pages. In parallel, all units with the designation "transport" (and equivalent), but also those with special tasks are described in detail (chronology, traditions, equipment, etc.). The 470-page work, illustrated with some 600 photos and 17 previously unpublished colour profiles, is not only devoted to military air transport in the narrower sense, but also to the air tankers of the strategic air forces and the technical units that have always supported the air force's transport aircraft.
