Pierre Costantini, previously known only to history buffs, was an aviation pioneer, a successful pilot in the First World War, a journalist, a poet, an organiser and supply driver for the "Yellow Cruise", an inventor and a man of letters (he was enthusiastic about Nietzsche and wrote studies and translations of Nietzsche that were of high quality). Costantini was also a personality with a darker side, as he was one of the collaborators during the Second World War, in favour of a "united Europe", before becoming one of the fighters for the revival of Corsican identity after the war. There are many books that refer to the work of Pierre Costantini, but there is no study that traces his life and his choices, especially during the tragic times that France experienced in the last century. The passion for the history of France during the Second World War and the excavation of numerous public and private archives have led to the writing of this biography.
