"Bunker II" lists the "bunker" literature for 342 German, 268 European and 13 non-European locations, organised topographically and alphabetically. The focus of the collection is on press coverage.
A volume from the series "Beiträge zur internationalen Festungsforschung". Bunkers are increasingly coming to the attention of a wide public. Over the last thirteen years, 777 authors and journalists in Germany alone have dealt with the phenomenon of "bunkers". Although the demolition mentality still prevails, there is a growing awareness of the need to categorise and preserve these buildings as historical monuments. The property market is also increasingly discovering converted bunkers as attractive and exclusive residential and office complexes within urban conurbations.
