This new edition is presented by a pilot sergeant who formed the backbone of the French Air Force during the Cold War with his fellow mechanics and piston engine pilots. Without these pilots, who were fully committed to their responsibilities, no "Vautour" could have taken off and brought its crew home safely. In 2024, the book has the same content as the original, but has been expanded with new colour photos, additional information and a production list. For many, the twin-engine SNCASO. 4050 "Vautour" is a mythical fighter aircraft, if only because of its mass, its aggressiveness, its ability to engage in aerial combat in encounters with other Luftwaffe fighters and to attack on the ground, as the Israelis have demonstrated so well.
