Volume 6 of the series "Les Cahiers de la Compagnie d'Elite" is devoted to the story of Claude Monnot: enlisted as a Vélite, Claude Monnot became a grenadier in the French Imperial Guard in 1806 and enlisted in the Fusilier Grenadiers in 1807. This work provides information on the velites, the formation of the Guard Grenadiers, their organisation and uniform, everyday life and their countless battles in the campaigns of Napoleon I. The lighter sabre of the Fusilier Grenadiers is also considered here.
