My frontline assignments with the "Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler" and the 25th Waffen-Grenadier Division of the SS "Hunyadi". At the age of 17, the author volunteered for the Waffen-SS in 1941 and was soon in front-line service with the "Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler" in Russia. After his first wounding, he served in the New Reich Chancellery, among other things as a workroom post in front of Hitler's study. He was also a member of the commando that retrieved the body of Reinhard Heydrich, who had fallen victim to an assassination attempt, from Prague. His further frontline assignments led him again to the Eastern Front and later with the 25th Waffen-Grenadier Division of the SS "Hunyadi" to the Southeast. Many b/w illustrations. 192 pages.
