Hitler, Stalin and the Second World War. New edition of a work in which the historian Werner Maser, who died in April 2007, describes the alliance between Hitler and Stalin and their path to the Second World War. In his work, the author argues that both sides had prepared for an attack by the other, and thus the German attack on 22 June 1941 was merely a pre-emptive strike before an imminent attack by the Soviet Union on the German Reich.
