In text and pictures, the personal data of the highly decorated men are in part considerably expanded by exhaustive information on their military careers and their front-line missions within the framework of the respective unit, so that a very comprehensive picture of the lives and deaths of the Knight's Cross bearers in their sacrificial missions has emerged. However, it is not only a book about the Knight's Cross bearers of the Waffen-SS, but at the same time a documentation of all former SS units in which these men served. After being out of print for a long time, the book is now finally available in a 5th, updated edition.
