Three German commando units in the picture. KSK - Brandenburger - GSG 9. The last regimental commander of the "Brandenburger", Wilhelm Walther, is still alive. For this work, the 95-year-old has now opened up his treasury of photos from the 1940-1945 operational period, including spectacular colour photos. - The Palestinian terror gave birth to the GSG 9 30 years later. Retired General Ulrich K. Wegener even evaluated the communist "Partisan's Handbook" when determining the training content of the GSG 9. - Retired Brigadier General Reinhard Günzel used the experience of both men in building up the modern military commando force KSK, which today operates worldwide. The three ex-commanders talk about the principles of their units, their mostly secret missions and what connects them across the generational divide.
