Arranged by regiments of the American 101st Airborne Division, most of the photos shown here are identified. That in itself is an information that has not always been available until now. Thirty years of research and investigation were necessary to ensure this. This book is a combination of three photo collections and is undoubtedly one of the most comprehensive collections of images on the subject.
To create it, Mark Bando, an American historian of the 101st Airborne Division, and Michel De Trez pooled their knowledge and collections.
Mark Bando gathered his knowledge on the subject over the years at the source, from veterans, while their memories were still intact.
The 101st's mission to liberate Carentan and connect the landing beaches of "Omaha" and "Utha" has never before been described with such attention to detail.
