Description
A spoiled young high nobleman becomes Swedish colonel over a regiment of horsemen in 1631 and goes to war shortly afterwards. Despite his military inexperience, he is able to establish himself in the following years of war, without, however, standing out through extraordinary achievements. His field of activity extends in the south of Germany from the Upper Palatinate into France.
The impending collapse of Swedish rule and the constant influence of his brother, Landgrave George II, led him to resign from his engagement for Sweden in 1635.
