Why should we talk about executions during the First World War? Even today, this sensitive, complex, and problematic topic is often discussed superficially and thoughtlessly, based on well-known cases and clichés. Understanding history, however, also means searching in dark corners and bringing to light what has been deliberately concealed or hidden for years. The author has the courage, without presuming judgment, to continue the research of those who have previously addressed this subject. This continuation of the investigation does not simply recount familiar episodes but illuminates over 400 execution cases, meticulously examined using archival methods, official sources, witness testimonies, family members, and documents hidden for decades. This publication does not mark the end of the study of executions; rather, it provides a solid foundation for future research and perhaps a more objective understanding of history.
