In the imperial reign of Napoleon I, France's opponents initially tried unsuccessfully to defend themselves against the hegemony of the new power. Only when Napoleon's miscalculations led to the weakening of his empire did the allied opponents succeed. These were Russia, Austria, Prussia and Sweden. Not forgotten are the British and two notable legions, the King's German and the Russo-German Legions.
All together they put a stop to Napoleon and deprived him of power. The Emperor came back once more and ultimately failed because of the unity of the allies.
