Kesselsdorf, 15 December 1745 - Second Silesian War.
Our series relates to the following episode: The "old Dessau" found the enemy (here the Saxons and the Austrians) in an excellent position on icy slopes of Kesselsdorf. Before giving the signal to attack, he is said to have prayed aloud in front of the front line: "Dear God, help me graciously today! Or wilt Thou not, at least help the villains, the enemies not, but see how it comes!"
Here in a compilation of 1:40 of the original troop strength, Prussian soldiers only.
Leopold I, Prince of Anhalt-Dessau, called "The Old Dessau" (* 3 July 1676 in Dessau; 7 April 1747 ibid), was Prince of Anhalt-Dessau, the first important Prussian army reformer and one of the most popular Prussian generals.
