Ghiant Guard
Probably the most famous Prussian soldiers were the "Ghiant Guard" of the I Battalion of the King's Regiment No. 6. These giants of the "Red Life Battalion Grenadiers" were the soldier-king Frederick William I's favourite among his "dear blue children". The otherwise so thrifty king spared no expense when it came to recruiting for this troop. Tall men gave Potsdam a respectful wide berth in those days. The desire to have soldiers who were as tall as possible was, incidentally, not just a fixed idea - a certain height and long arms were a great advantage when loading the long muzzle-loading rifle.
The figures for this series were developed according to recent military-historical findings and allow the collector an authentic representation of this unit.
