The statistics of the most successful fighter pilots of the Second World War list Theodor Weißenberger in tenth place. On over 500 enemy flights, he achieved a total of 208 aerial victories by the end of the war. He achieved 33 of these in the western theatre of war alone, including 8 with the Messerschmitt Me 262, which made him one of the first aces of the jet age.
In 1949, Weißenberger became involved in motorsport and took part in a total of five car races. On 11 June 1950, however, he had a fatal accident at the Nürburgring.
