In the last twenty years, the development of modern vehicle armour has undergone major changes. Using tracked armoured vehicles of the British Army as examples, this evolution from the "Stillbrew" to the "Chobham" to the new "EPBA" grid spacing armour is reviewed in technical and historical detail for the first time.
