Infantry fighting vehicle short Hotchkiss & long HS 30. The infantry fighting vehicle short, Hotchkiss was during the early years the typical combat vehicle of the German Army's armoured reconnaissance force. The long HS 30 armoured reconnaissance vehicle was the standard vehicle of the Bundeswehr's armoured infantry at the same time. Both vehicles also served in active service in numerous variants, some until the 1980s. This publication describes the versions, the technology and the use of both vehicle families in largely unpublished photographic material.
