The third volume of Jörg Siegert's fundamental documentation on the missile systems of the NVA is meticulously devoted to ground-to-air systems, i.e. air defence weapons. These were an essential component of air defence and the air defence units of the NVA's land forces. As in the previous volumes, Siegert focuses on describing the missiles and their technology. He also briefly discusses the technology directly required for the deployment of the missiles, such as launch pads, missile guidance stations, transport vehicles and fuel logistics, interspersed with many previously unpublished photos.
