The vehicles of the People's Army fared little differently than most cars and trucks in the former GDR: most of them ended up in the scrap presses. A few examples, however, not only survived but were even lovingly and expertly restored. Christian Suhr, a specialist in historic commercial vehicles and Saxon automobile manufacturing, tracked down such examples and, together with renowned photographer Ralf Weinreich, staged them effectively. In this volume, they are once again paraded, the everyday and best-known as well as the most unusual and exciting vehicles of the former National People's Army.
