The war diary of First Lieutenant Walter Blöhs not only describes the path of Panzergrenadier Regiment 90 through some of the most dramatic battles of World War 2, but also offers an interesting insight into political and military events of which the writer was aware but in which he himself had no direct involvement.
For example, he reports on American war measures after the USA entered the war in December 1941, describes the development of the general situation in Africa and Italy in 1943 and comments on the assassination attempt on Hitler on 20 July 1944.
