A very helpful work, especially for modellers, on the submarines, small auxiliary ships and converted merchant ships of the Imperial Japanese Navy in the decades between 1903 and 1945. The first nearly 23 pages present the armament of the submarines, auxiliary ships and modified freighters with a view to their reproduction in the model in words and pictures. The remainder of the volume is then devoted to the presentation of the various ships as models, focusing primarily on waterline models on a scale of 1:700. Various kits, fittings and the reproduction of certain features of the various ships in the kit are shown.
