This is a detailed work on the uniforming, equipment, organisation and history of the Prussian Landwehr at the time of the Napoleonic Wars. These reserve units were an important contribution of Prussia to the victory of the allied armies over Napoleon I. Precise statements about the exact appearance of the Prussian Landwehr troops are difficult to make due to the time lag. The author presents the known and established facts concerning the uniform and equipment of the Landwehr soldiers, and attempts to fill gaps in knowledge where possible. This publication includes photographs of original uniforms and equipment as well as detailed uniform illustrations by Stanislaw Lyulin.
