There is really no need to write about Napoleon. There are countless essays, observations, texts and analyses about this historically outstanding personality. Whether for or against, Napoleon is well known. The author is less concerned with him as a person than with his environment and the Napoleonic era. Thus a selection is offered, perhaps to be called a cocktail or rather a cuvée of the author's own texts, which were written in contexts other than the observation of the person. The selected passages are summarised here and may inspire reflection and reference.
