The cave bear (Ursus spelaeus) is an extinct bear species of the last glacial period. The series features Stone Age hunters who identified a bear family in their cave. Not only the meat, but also the fur were in demand.
The habitat of the cave bear was Europe, from northern Spain to the Urals. His head hull length was up to 3.5 m, his shoulder height about 1.70 m. He was so much larger than today's brown bear. The females of the cave bear were, as with today's bear types, somewhat smaller than the males.
