Volume 27 of the series "Imágenes de Guerra" is devoted to the use of German submarines during World War II. Illustrated with a large number of contemporary photographs, it describes the entire course of the fight of the German submarines against the Allied merchant and supply shipping as well as against the Allied war fleets in all maritime theatres of war, from the successful early years to the later phases of the war, when the hunters had long since become the hunted themselves. In addition to the history of operations, the volume also deals with the technical development of the submarines, shows uniforms and clothing as well as insignia of the submariners.
