The germanic warriors in the battle of the Teutoburg-Forest 9 AD.
There are lots of publications about the disastrous defeat of three roman legions in the forests of ancient germany under their commander Varus. This new publication describes not the legionaries, but their opponent: the germanic warriors under their leader Arminius, a former roman officer. Clothing, weaponry, equipment and tactics are as well illustrated as the tribal origins of the different warrior clans and their motivations for the fight.
