Master of the Teutonic Order (died 1239). A biographical attempt. The life of the important Grand Master of the Teutonic Order is described in its entirety. His significance for the policies of Emperor Frederick II, his role in the affairs of the Crusader states and his work on the Fifth Crusade are clearly emphasised. Of course, his actions in connection with the establishment and expansion of the Teutonic Order states in the East Prussian-Baltic region are not neglected.
