Description
On the final day of the Battle of Gettysburg, General Robert E. Lee ordered one of the most famous infantry assaults in military history: the attack by Confederate divisions under George Pickett, John Pettigrew, and Isaac Trimble on Union positions along Cemetery Ridge. Numerous generals, officers and ordinary soldiers from both sides tell how they experienced and survived the dramatic attack on 3 July 1863.
