Description
In 1600, the French finally succeeded in gaining a permanent foothold in North America for the first time. Despite the harsh climate and the poor supply situation, they settled in the area of present-day Canada to found what would one day become "New France". Samuel de Champlain, explorer and adventurer, was the driving force behind these colonisation attempts on behalf of the Crown. After his detour to Montmartre, he now turns back to the New World, and having already presented a depressing swansong to the French adventure in America in "Frenchman" and "Pawnee", he now turns to its beginnings.
