Was there research on a "German atomic bomb"? After decades of the view that German scientists could not have constructed an atomic bomb in the first place until the end of World War II, more and more authors have recently taken the opposite view. Now the two authors of this volume have thoroughly analysed recently produced georadar images, which in their opinion clearly point to the use of non-conventional bombs in the Jonas Valley area. Reason enough to go in search of clues once again, to interpret contemporary reports from new points of view and to bring astonishing conclusions to light.
For decades after the end of the Second World War, the only view held by both the Allies and the Germans was that the German scientists had not managed to construct an atomic bomb by the end of the war. Only after reunification did various authors publish a contrary account, mostly based on eyewitness accounts. Afterwards, the Germans seemed to have succeeded in developing and testing at least one nuclear weapon. This is also indicated by reports of the Soviet secret service in 1945.
In the present book, with the help of georadar images, proof is now provided for the first time that bombs of a non-conventional type were produced in the German Reich! On the basis of detailed photographs, the authors prove that the bombs recorded could not have been explosive bombs or vacuum bombs. In order to document the correspondence of the georadar images with reality and thus the genuineness of the bomb images, known objects were recorded with georadar and the images obtained were compared with the objects. In addition, the authors describe the situation at the end of the war with the relocation of important armament projects underground. Detailed chapters are devoted to the development of nuclear physics as well as nuclear physics research in the German Reich up to 1945. Using various sources, the connection between the uranium confiscated by the Allies and the American atomic bomb development programme is shown. The actions taken by the public authorities after the Georadar pictures became known are also discussed. The entanglements between politics today and American nuclear research since 1945 are also part of the book. Highly topical interpretation of a controversial subject. Included are never-before-published georadar drawings and interpretations. Extensive chapters are devoted to the history of nuclear physics and nuclear research during World War II.
