Description
The Kingdom of Bavaria provided the largest contingent among the German allied states during the Napoleonic period, with 30,000 soldiers, and because of this size it fought decisive battles in the campaigns of 1809 and 1812. With this book, the authors present a comprehensive work on the organisation of the army and the individual troop units, their uniforms, the regulations for the formation and deployment of units in the field as well as on the internal structure of the army. These descriptions are supplemented by an account of the warlike conflicts of the Bavarians in the campaigns of 1806/07 against Prussia and Russia, 1809 against Austria, 1812 against Russia, and 1813 against Prussia and Russia.
