SAS is marking its 80th anniversary with a specially liveried Airbus A330-300. The anniversary comes eight decades after SAS?s first intercontinental flight on 17 September 1946, when a Douglas DC-4 flew from Stockholm via Copenhagen, Prestwick and Gander, landing in New York after 25 hours. To mark this milestone, SAS has introduced a special livery for one of its Airbus A330-300 aircraft. The aircraft is part of the airline?s long-haul fleet, which comprises eight Airbus A330-300s and is supplemented by the Airbus A350 and the A321LR. The livery is entirely in SAS blue. The Scandinavian flag has been reinterpreted as a nod to the classic livery of the 1980s.
