The Fukuisaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur that is thought to have lived 120 million years ago in what is now Fukui (on the north coast of Japan).
It plucked leaves from plants with its beak-like mouth and then crushed them with its molars. As it had relatively long arms, we assume that it was able to move on both two and four legs as required. It reached a length of around 5.2 metres and shared its habitat with the carnivorous Fukuiraptor. Thanks to the cooperation between the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum and the Faculty of Dinosaur Palaeontology at Fukui Prefectural University, TAMIYA has been able to include the Fukuisaurus in its range as a 1:35 scale model kit.
No glue is required - the parts are simply plugged together!
About the model
- Plastic model kit in 1:35 scale.
- Length: approx. 130-140 mm.
- No glue is required - the parts are simply clipped together (Clic-Loc).
- The stocky body with the relatively long arms was modelled in great detail on the basis of extensive research at the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum and under the expert supervision of Fukui Prefectural University.
- The model impresses with its realistic representation of the mouth, teeth and skin structure.
- The scope of delivery includes a presentation base and two flat figures (silhouettes) of humans, which enable a size comparison between the Fukuisaurus and the human.
- The kit comes with a colour information sheet introducing the Fukuisaurus and other dinosaurs discovered in the Fukui region.
- Also included is a paper background image that can be coloured to serve as a suitable backdrop for your model.
