The Bismarck was, along with the Tirpitz, the largest battleship in WW2. The 251 m long ship was commissioned on 24.08.1940. After completing her training voyages, she took part in the Rhine Exercise. On 24.05.1941, she sank the British battle cruiser H.M.S. Hood in a sea battle off Greenland. Afterwards, the bow-damaged Bismarck set course for a French harbour. During the pursuit by British ships and aircraft, the ship was shot out of action on 27.05.1941 and sank in the Atlantic. Finely textured components with rivets and countersunk sheet metal joints authentically reproduce this imposing battleship. Other features of the kit include the movable gun turrets, with individual movable pipes.
