The huge long-range Boeing 747 made its maiden flight on 9.2.1969. The jumbo jet had Pratt & Whitney engines with 19,731 kp thrust, a take-off weight of üover 300,000 kg and could carry 385 passengers üover a distance of 9,136 km. The 747 was planned by Boeing as a series, and the 747-100 was followed by other variants with increased capacities.
