Why this model will be the flagship of your collection
- Monumental size: At 850 mm in length, this model exceeds the usual dimensions. A showcase piece that is unrivalled.
- A challenge for experts: With 550 individual parts and level 5, this kit is demanding. It requires experience, but rewards you with museum quality.
- Attention to detail: From the characteristic lifeboats to the extensive promenade decks and the striking smokestack - everything is accurately reproduced.
- Textured surfaces: The hull and superstructure are finely engraved and perfectly capture the impact of the original.
- Clear view: Transparent parts for the glazed protective walls and window fronts ensure a realistic look.
Building the Queen Mary 2 is a journey in itself. You start with the massive hull, construct the complex deck superstructures and work your way up to the finest details such as the radar antennas and pools. The four drive nacelles (pods) in particular, which accelerate the original to over 29 knots, are technically finely worked out. Once you have completed this model, you will not only have a replica of a ship, but also a monument to modern engineering.
Background information
The Queen Mary 2 is a ship of superlatives. With 150,000 GRT, a length of 345 metres and a height of 72 metres, she towers above everything that had gone before when she was commissioned. Unlike normal cruise ships, she was specially designed as a robust ocean liner for the rough North Atlantic route. She offers space for 2,620 passengers, who are looked after by 1,253 crew members. Her four powerful electric motors make her one of the fastest large passenger ships in the world. With this kit, you can honour the "Queen", who has captured the hearts of ship fans worldwide since her christening.
