The second generation of heavy platform wagons built from 1942 onwards had the same dimensions and characteristics as their predecessors. Externally, they were recognisable by the modified angular fish-shaped outer longitudinal members. They also had a lowerable brakeman's platform railing, a handwheel for the parking brake on each side of the wagon, eight removable steel stanchions and a Hik air brake.
