Length built 93 mm. Decals of the Soviet Army in the GDR, Vietnamese and GDR Army as well as the Mt. Elbrus Expedition 1974. The first UAZ-469 rolled off the production line of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant on 15 December 1972. This all-wheel drive off-road vehicle was produced for more than 39 years and was actively used in both military and civilian service. From the mid-1970s, the UAZ-469 became the most important command vehicle in the Soviet Army and in the Warsaw Pact countries. It was delivered to Cuba, Vietnam and African countries. The vehicle could carry up to seven people, including the driver, or up to 600 kg of cargo. The UAZ-69 could also tow a trailer weighing 850 kg. A removable tarpaulin protected the passengers from bad weather. If necessary, the tarpaulin could be removed and the windscreen folded onto the bonnet. This considerably reduced the height of the vehicle, making it possible to transport it by air, in a helicopter or aeroplane. In August 1974, three standard UAZ- 469Bs climbed Mount Elbrus to an altitude of 4,200 metres above sea level in 38 minutes.
