The Polish national airline relied on the robust Ilyushin IL-18 for almost three decades. The first examples of the four-engine aircraft were introduced in 1961, the last were withdrawn from service in 2000 and sold on the following year. This was also the fate of the SP-LSG, which entered service with LOT in 1965 before being sold to Balkan Bulgarian Airlines in 1991 and finally being used by various African airlines until around 2005. This model of the SP-LSG appears in the livery introduced by LOT in 1977, which was characterised by a clearer design with a darker blue, an enlarged crane logo on the stabiliser and the name of the airline in large letters on the fuselage.
True-to-scale and true-to-original small model for adult collectors.
