Xáat Kwáani means "salmon people" in the Tlingit language of Alaska. This unique work by Alaskan artist Crystal Kaakeeyáa Rose Demientieff Worl specifically honors salmon and the need to protect its environment, as well as indigenous culture and language in general. This traditional art style is thousands of years old and widespread along the northwest coast of the North American continent. Applying the artwork to this Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-800 required over 440 liters of paint. Transferring the complex design to a 1:500 scale model is correspondingly laborious. Undoubtedly, this unusual indigenous design is an eye-catcher in any model collection.
